How the National Center Symposium app uses information, and how to request account deletion.
Request deletion of your app account
Email symposium@cwnationalcenter.org from the address used to sign in. Put “National Center Symposium app account deletion request” in the subject. You can also find this option under Account & privacy in the app.
We will verify that you control the account before removing it and its associated app data. Sending the email does not delete the account immediately. If you cannot send email from this device, use another email service to contact the address above.
Deleting your app account is separate from canceling Symposium registration or requesting deletion of records needed for event administration or legal obligations. Describe any broader request in your email and we will address it separately.
Information the app handles
- Account and registration: Your sign-in email and verified event registration link. Your name, organization, title, state, and role may appear in your profile and, with the relevant registration consent, in the attendee directory.
- Features you use: Saved schedule and connections, session feedback, and optional notification token. Your saved schedule and some connection details are stored on your device. Feedback and some connections may also be stored in the event service when you sign in.
- Camera: With your permission, the app scans an attendee QR code to add a connection. The QR code may contain the attendee’s name, organization, title, state, and attendee identifier. The app does not need to save camera images to use this feature.
How information is used and shared
We use this information to verify access, show event information and opted-in attendees, support networking, collect feedback, deliver requested notifications, and operate the Symposium. The event service uses Supabase for authentication and app data; optional push delivery uses Expo’s notification service. Registration information originates in the National Center’s HubSpot event records. Other attendees can see directory display fields only when the applicable directory opt-in is recorded. The app does not display attendee email addresses in the public directory.
Your choices and data requests
You may use public agenda features without signing in. You can decline camera and notification permission in device settings, and you can stop directory display or request correction by emailing symposium@cwnationalcenter.org. You can request deletion of your app account using the instructions above. We may retain records that are needed for registration, accounting, or legal obligations, and will explain any such retention when responding to your request.
